दर्ता नभएका मोबाइल फोन जेठदेखि नचल्ने, एमडिएमएसले अवैध आयातलाई पनि ठप्प पार्दै

Unregistered mobile phones that have entered Nepal illegally will not be allowed to operate from next May. Nepal Telecommunication Authority will implement Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) from mid-June. The implementation of MDMS was postponed for a year due to technical delays. The coronavirus infection was delayed due to a lack of supplies from abroad for the development and installation of MDMS.

Now, NEA has stated that the work of MDMS has reached the final stage. At present, a house is being built to keep MDMS on its land in Chawhil of the Telecommunications Authority.

The system developed by the company will be linked with the Customs and Telecommunication Authority after its implementation. Meen Prasad Aryal, director of the Telecommunications Authority, informed that all the illegal mobiles entering Nepal and all the illegal mobiles operating inside Nepal without registration will be made illegal after evading customs from abroad.

"After the construction of the building is completed, the company in charge of MDMS will maintain the system and illegal mobile regulation will take place by mid-June," Aryal said.

With the implementation of MDMS, illegally imported mobiles will be stopped as well as trademark stolen mobiles and illegal calls coming from abroad will be controlled. Which are not registered in Nepal. In the mobile market of Nepal, unregistered mobile phones with IMEI number are found.

The Mobile Importers Association and Mobile Entrepreneurs have been repeatedly drawing the attention of the government and the Telecommunications Authority to stop illegal mobile imports.

Now, the Chairman of the Telecommunications Authority, Purushottam Khanal, has been pushing for the full implementation of MDMS from next May.

What to do with unregistered and imported mobiles?

Illegal mobiles are found in the Nepali mobile market at present. Traders have not stopped selling such mobiles secretly.

Most of the mobile phones from abroad and unregistered mobile phones are very popular in the Nepali market.

If you do not have mobile registration, Nepal Telecom Authority is registering IMEI.

You can register your mobile online with the authority and also by going to the authority.

NEA says that even the lost mobile phone can be easily found after the registration of the mobile phone.
